The 3 Days Geological Morocco Tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Marrakech. Departing for Ait Benhaddou, you will pass through the scenic Tizi N’Tichka pass in the Atlas Mountains. Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a fortified village with a history dating back to the 17th century. After exploring the kasbah, enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant in Ait Benhaddou.
Continuing to Ouarzazate, you will visit the famous Kasbah Taourirte and the Atlas & CLA Cinema Studios, where many international films have been shot, earning the city the title of “Hollywood of Africa”.
Next, travel through the Valley of the Roses, famous for its annual rose harvest, which contributes to the production of perfumes and cosmetics. As you drive through the Valley of 1000 Kasbahs, marvel at the stunning traditional Berber architecture. Day 2: Merzouga ⇢ Fossil Sites ⇢ Crinoid Quarry ⇢ Fossil Museums
After a delicious Moroccan breakfast, we head to Elkhmliya, a village renowned for its Gnawa music. Here, you will stop for mint tea and interact with the locals before heading to the famous Crinoid Quarry. This site is considered the first location where marine fossils were discovered over 350 million years ago.
Next, visit the Fossilized Marble Quarry, where you’ll find incredible specimens such as Ammonites, Orthoceras, Goniatites, and even Sea Stars—the largest fossil collection in the world. Continue your journey to the Dinosaur Quarry and see fossilized remains of ancient animals that once roamed this area.
A visit to the House of Trilobites will allow you to view this iconic prehistoric arthropod in its various forms. After a picnic lunch with a stunning geological backdrop, we’ll return to Erfoud to visit the Fossil Centers. These centers display a wide range of fossils for you to admire and purchase.
In the afternoon, we journey to the Merzouga Desert, where you’ll embark on a camel trek across the golden sand dunes. Spend the night in a Nomadic Berber Tent at a desert oasis, watching the sun set and the stars light up the clear desert sky.

How far in advance should we book this tour ?
Making your vacation plans as soon as you can is encouraged because the early bird gets the worm.
How to pay for the tour ?
Initially, we ask that a small deposit be given to our account via PayPal during the booking procedure. Second, the balance must be paid in cash and should be handed to our driver/guide on the first day of the tour in euros, dollars, or the equivalent in dirhams.
How do i take my luggage to the camp?
At the start of your camel trek, a 4×4 vehicle will convey your luggage. As a result, your bags will be there when you arrive at the camp.
Is it possible to have vegetarian food or vegan food?
Serving vegan or vegetarian food is possible. On the first day of your trip, please email me or let your driver/guide know as soon as you can.
I don’t want to ride camels to the camp, how i do I reach the camp?
If you don’t want to ride a camel, we can transport you to the camp in a 4 × 4 vehicle.
